Low quality camera I bought this Sony DSC-S980 to replace my broken Canon 770IS. The reason I decided to take this one is that it cost me only 150$ (compared to $220 for the Canon)and it came from Sony - a famous brand name. However, right after I took the very first pictures, I was completely disapointed!Even though this was a 12.1-mega-pixel camera, the images looked worse than that of Canon with 10 mega pixes. The output images always looked somewhat dark (even turn on flash already). And so is the video quality, lots of noise. There were not many options to choose when take pic in different conditions likes Canon. It takes a long time (2-3s) among pictures when capture or preview. Conclusion: if you do not care much a about quality, this camera may be a good choice for its price and brand name. Otherwise, I would recommend you look for other cameras (I would get a Canon 1100IS for almost the same price but big difference in quality)
small but powerful I purchased this camera and had to wait for it to come on the market.The controls are easy to use and the picture quality is awesome .You need to read the book first to learn the settings,battery power is good.I would recommend this camera to anyone.It takes awesome closeups.
