BIONZ imaging processorThe BIONZ Imaging Processor delivers the high resolution and fast performance you expect from a Sony digital camera. Ultra-slim designThe DSC-T700 packs a lot of performance into an ultra-slim design. Measuring just over 5/8-inch (16.4mm), the DSC-T700 is slim enough to slip into a pocket, so you can take it with you wherever you go. Face Detection technologyFace Detection technology detects up to eight individual faces and controls flash, focus, exposure, and white balance to deliver accurate, natural skin tones with reduced red-eye for beautiful images of family and friends. Face Detection can even distinguish between children and adults, so you can prioritize the camera’s focus on children in the scene for clear images of their memorable moments. Smile Shutter technologyThe popular Smile Shutter technology automatically detects and captures smiling faces. Simply choose the Smiley Face feature and the camera will capture a smile the moment it happens. You can also select subject priority (Adult or Child Priority or touch subject on screen) and indicate the degree of Smile Detection Sensitivity to high (small smile), medium (laugh) or low (grin).

Double Anti-blur SolutionThe combination of Optical SteadyShot image stabilization and High ISO sensitivity helps compensate for shaky hands, minimizes blur and allows flash-free shooting to preserve the mood. Optical SteadyShot image stabilizationOptical SteadyShot image stabilization uses a built-in gyro sensor to detect camera shake and automatically shifts the lens to help prevent blur without sacrificing image quality. High Sensitivity ISO 3200High ISO allows for faster shutter speed, so you can take pictures indoors or in low light without the need for a flash. In addition to High Sensitivity Mode (ISO), you can select up to eight ISO settings (Auto, 80, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600, 3200) when shooting in Program Auto Mode to adjust sensitivity to your shooting conditions. Intelligent Scene RecognitionIntelligent Scene Recognition (iSCN) Mode automatically detects eight different types of scenes and selects the appropriate camera settings: Backlight, Backlight Portrait, Twilight, Twilight Portrait, Twilight using a Tripod, Portrait, Landscape and Macro. iSCN has 2 modes: Advanced and Auto. In Auto Mode, the camera takes a single shot using the optimal settings. In Advance Mode, the camera takes a picture with the current settings and only if necessary takes a second picture with optimized setting.

Dynamic Range Optimizer Standard and PlusDynamic Range Optimizer (DRO) Standard and Plus uses a sophisticated algorithm to determine the best exposure and contrast settings for almost any shooting environment. The result is more natural images with clearer details that more closely match what your naked eye sees. DRO is particularly effective when shooting backlit portraits or any scene with a dramatic contrast between background and foreground lighting. DRO Plus allows for even greater optimization by analyzing each region of an image and performing additional image processing. Additional Features

Customer Reviews Sony Cybershot DSC-T700 10MP Digital Camera with 4x Optical Zoom with Super Steady Shot Image Stabilization (Grey)From Sony
Great compact point and shoot I purchased this camera in a pinch back in November 2008. I was heading to the SEMA show in Vegas, and my ancient Sony P-10 was starting to show its age. I didn't want to lug my Canon DSLR around, so I went shopping for a nice and compact P&S. The size of the camera is similar to a cell phone. I use my T-Mobile G1's soft case for the Camera instead of the phone. The picture quality is superb (as expected from upper tier cybershot cameras) in most situations. Like usual, shooting in dim light and in the dark don't work out for Sony Cameras... it's definitely leaps and bound better than the previous ones I've owned though (this is Cybershot number 5 in my household). The on-board 4gb of storage is great. It's meant to serve as a photo album. A memory stick duo should be used for normal shoots, while the on-board storage should be used for small resolution photo galleries. 4gb of duo in addition to 4gb of on-board memory should be enough for most. The touch-screen interface is decent. The only gripe I have is that is smudges quite easily. Aside from that, it functions well. Overall, it's a great ultra compact P&S model. It gets the job done for general use and has a very nice form and feel. The metallic casing shows its position in the cybershot line. Definitely recommended, especially at the current Amazon price ($270) at the time of this review. I purchased it for $385. and would do the same again if needbe.
Bad image quality, worse battery life The only digital cameras I've owned have been Cybershots.. bought this one as an upgrade to my Sony dsc-w70. The photos had a red/orange tint that I was not able to get rid of after adjusting the settings and colors. I charged the battery completely to play around with the touch screen and get to know the settings/controls and it drained the battery dead VERY QUICKLY. Battery life was never a problem with my other two Sony's but with the way my friends and I take pictures and review them during a night out, this battery would never last(and after all the $ spent on the camera, I'd rather not shell out more for a battery). I didn't give myself long enough to get used to the touchscreen since I hated the image quality, but for the time I used it, I thought it was annoying. I have small fingers and still thought the touch screen was a pain, you do have the stylus pen, but it just isn't worth it to me. I'd rather use regular buttons, much easier, much quicker.

All in all, this camera was a MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT! I love Cybershots, but I'm stick to my 3 year old one. I think Sony tried to get too high tech with this one and missed the mark.
Small and sleek but HEAVY with terrible battery life. This is a small, well built camera. Don't be fooled, guys: it is not a camera you can slip into your dress shirt pocket despite its small size because it is so darn heavy! Perfect for a purse or inside pocket of a blazer. The slide mechanism works well for saving space and Smile Shutter is a cool feature. But the battery life is what kills the camera, along with not being able to charge it from a usb port. The smile shutter is a neat feature and really does work, but the steady shot function is a joke. Even accounting for the obvious difference in lens quality and SLR shutter speed, the 10MB pix from this camera are *no way near* the 5MB shots from my Nikon D50. Don't expect that high MBs equal great resolution I've had to dump about 30% of my shots from blur alone. Fingerprints on the LCD are a nuisance. If you're looking for anything more than a casual camera for closeups and don't like constant charging, I would look elsewhere.
